Dynette

Dynette is a DynDns registering server based on Bind / Named.

It provides a REST API.

Setup

Either:

uv sync

or:

python3 -m venv venv
venv/bin/pip install -e .

Then create config.yml from config.yml.example.

Client

We provide a client to register / unregister:

uv run ./src/dynette/client.py <dyndns server> register -d <domain> -k <key>

Dev

uv run flask --debug --app "dynette.app:create_app" run

Production

• You should also install bind9
• Include /etc/bind/named.conf.local in /etc/bind/named.conf
• Install the following services

We should initialize /var/lib/bind/BASE_DOMAIN.db (replace BASE_DOMAIN with e.g. nohost.me) with:
